The Serengeti is not just a park. It is one of the greatest wonders of nature still alive on the planet. With our experience in Tanzania, we share in this post what to bring to the Serengeti and how to prepare yourself.
In our itinerary you will stay 2 nights in camping tents in the heart of the Serengeti and 1 night in a comfortable lodge, with a privileged view.
Here you will wake up to the roar of lions, see the great migrations (when in season), the Big 5 and feel the immensity of the savanna like few can.
What to wear in the Serengeti
Neutral colors are mandatory: beige, khaki, olive green, light brown or light gray. Avoid bright colors (they scare the animals) and black/dark blue (they attract tsetse flies).
During the day: light trousers or shorts + long-sleeved shirts (protect from the sun and insects).
Early morning and end of the day: always bring a fleece or light jacket (it can be cool, especially on open game drives).
Footwear: comfortable and light trekking shoes or boots (for walks and safaris).
What to bring to Serengeti (essential)
Binoculars (8x or 10x) ā worth their weight in gold!
High sunscreen, hat, sunglasses and strong insect repellent.
Head torch (for the camps).
Small daypack for daily game drives (water, camera, binoculars).
Layered clothing + a light waterproof piece (it can rain suddenly).
Power bank, adapters and basic medication.
Moisturizer and lip balm (the air is dry).
