Sinai - Egypt – “Land of No One”

3. The Deserts of NoMade Horizon Sinai – “Land of No One”

Sinai is a mountainous desert with deep canyons, sacred mountains and incredible reefs for our PADI course. A more rocky and dramatic landscape than the classic sand deserts. Here our itinerary is more mountainous and active. We do canyon trekking, night walks, visits to ancient monasteries and, for those who want, the PADI course with diving in the Red Sea.

What to wear:

  • Light trousers, thin long-sleeved tops, the temperature in Sinai is high.

  • Trekking shoes with good grip (lots of rock and sand).

  • Light clothing for leisure activities, snorkeling and diving and long-sleeved clothing if necessary due to the high temperatures in Sinai.

What to bring:

  • Sturdy footwear for hiking and walks in the canyons and desert and light footwear for the day and leisure activities and the PADI.

  • Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, beachwear.

  • Snorkel or diving equipment if doing the PADI (we help organize it). Also available on site.

General tips for all deserts

  • Always bring a small daypack and a larger bag for the trip. Plenty of water, hydration is very important.

  • Layered clothing is key (the desert changes temperature a lot between day and night).

  • Avoid pure cotton (it takes a long time to dry). Prefer technical or merino materials.

  • Don’t forget: power bank, adapters, basic medication, moisturiser and lip balm.

Want to know which of these deserts suits you best? Comment below “SAHARA”, “EGYPT” or “SINAI” and we’ll send you the full 2026 programme with all the details.
